    A method for manufacturing filter-tipped cigarettes, in which a band is wound on the end of the cylinder of tobacco and on the filter tip so as to encircle them and connect them together, wherein, on the path followed by the paper serving to constitute the band before winding and connection, the paper is slit longitudinally and the two edges of the slit are spaced apart in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the cigarette, as a function of the desired rate of dilution of the smoke.

    (54) METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CIGARETTES WITH A FILTER AND A DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING IT

    The invention relates to a filter cigarette making technique containing a cylinder of tobacco or any other smoking material that is enclosed in a paper wrapper and connected to a tip filter, and can be used in the tobacco industry.
    There is a known method of making cigarettes with a filter that provides for the connection of a tobacco rod with a filter by means of a paper tape cuff.
    It is also known a device for performing this method 1. 15
    However, the known method of making cigarettes with a filter does not allow sufficient access of air to the filter body and diluting, thereby, the flow of primary smoke 20, its cooling and condensation of tar on the filter material.
    The purpose of the invention is to provide access of additional air to 25 filters.
    This is achieved by the fact that in the proposed method of making cigarettes with a filter before the process of combining the tobacco rod with a filter
    Rum paper tape is cut in the longitudinal direction into parts, followed by their breaking up in the transverse direction.
    In addition, a device for carrying out the method comprises at least one circular drive knife for cutting the paper tape into pieces and a device behind it for spreading these parts in the transverse direction.
    At the same time, the device for breeding parts of the belt contains at least one plate with a cantilever plate and a shaft fixed to it, the free end of the plate interacts with an abutment mounted for movement on said shaft.
    Fig. 1 schematically shows an apparatus for carrying out a method for producing filter cigarettes; in fig. 2 - disk drive knife; in fig. 3 - device for breeding parts of the tape.
    The device contains at least one disk drive knife 1 for cutting the paper tape 2 into parts 3.4 and 5, a device for breeding located behind it.
    of these portions in the transverse direction, the guides 6,7,8 and 9 and the central plate 10.
    The knife 1 has two pairs of disks 11 and 12, and the device for breeding parts of the tape contains plates 13, 14 with consoles with elastic plates 15, 16 and shaft 17 fixed to them. One of the ends of the 18-19 plates is fixed, and the other ends 20-21 are operable with the stops 22-23 mounted for movement on the shaft 17, the latter being mounted on bearings 24-25 made at the ends of the plates 13-14.
    The control knob 26 serves to turn the weight 17 and dilute the stops 22-23 from one another and, thus, the ends of the 20-21 plates 13-14.
    The method is carried out as follows.
    The paper tape 2 is cut with the help of a disk knife 1 in the longitudinal direction into parts 3.4 and 5. Then parts of the tape are spread out in the transverse direction, for which tape 5 is inserted between the plates 15,16, and parts 3 and 4 of the tape outside so that the plates 15 and 16 were cut apart the cuts 27 and 28, which were made with disks 11.12 of a knife.
    Next, the tobacco rod and the filter (not shown in the drawings) are connected by means of a paper tape cuff 2 to form cigarettes equipped with a filter. The filter cuff is divided into two separate belt sections covering the porous filter mantle, thereby leaving an open ventilation zone, the width of which is adjusted with sufficient accuracy depending on the desired degree of dilution of the smoke.
    Longitudinal cutting of the cuff allows you to adjust the flow-smoke dilution, and also makes it possible to produce a tape of a smaller width than the known one, which allows you to save valuable material, both in quantity and in terms of technical characteristics.
    The use of normally non-porous and non-perforated paper for the cuff removes the need for complex equipment and gives a significant time gain. The proposed method of making cigarettes with a filter and a device for its implementation provide additional access of air to the filter and thus diluting the flow of primary smoke, its cooling and better condensation of tar on the filter material.

    with a filter, comprising connecting the tobacco rod with a filter by means of a paper tape cuff, characterized in that, in order to provide access
    additional air into the filter, before the process of joining the tobacco rod with the filter paper tape is cut in the longitudinal direction into parts, followed by breeding
    them in the transverse direction.

    2. A device for carrying out the method according to Claim 1, wherein it contains at least one disk drive knife for cutting paper
    tape on the part and the device behind it for breeding these parts in the transverse direction.
